Challenge:
Create a concept and storyboard for 2 min video showcasing the work on a pilot app “Peak”. The app is designed and developed for Ontario Energy Board to save customers time and money on their monthly energy bill. Video to be submitted and featured on national scale for awards and company case studies portfolio.
Context:
“While the new pricing structure successfully reduced costs, people were still reluctant to change their longtime habits. So we set out to reach them in micro-moments, with the goal of small changes adding up to a four to six percent reduction in peak energy usage.” ..... “The pilot app we helps users visualize their habits, identify actionable insights, compare their usage to their own history as well as the consumption of their neighbours and earn badges for a job well done. App alerts as well as texts keep customers tuned in to the importance of conscientious energy usage.”
Solution:
Created concept for the animated storyline. Storyboarded 2 min video frame by frame working with script for voice over and screen transitions for animation. Collaboratively worked with the team of copywriters senior leadership and production studio teams, polished the concept through numerous rounds of reviews and feedback. Finished storyboard have been submitted to production team and animated with the our collaborative input. Some of the frames and transitions were further edited in production to accommodate the narrator paste and overall flow.
